Denpasar Market
Denpasar is Bali’s capital and the main gateway to the island, traditional Balinese culture is deeply rooted in Denpasar with a strong Hindu influence. The city features modern department stores, restaurants, a variety of local stalls and Pasar Badung market place, the largest traditional market in Denpasar. The market is the main source of fresh produce amongst Denpasar locals and features fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers from local farming regions.
Museum Bali
Built in 1910 by Dutch citzens, the Bali museum displays a large collection of Balinese cultural artefacts. The museum has several exhibition halls which showcase different historical collections ranging from the Mesolithic age to the modern era including textiles, artwork and traditional Balinese artefacts.

Sanur
South East of Denpasar lies the seaside town of Sanur. As well as luxurious hotel complexes, you can also experience local village life in action as fisherman wander the beach and local Gamelan orchestras practice throughout the night. The town offers a more laid-back experience with a calm, shallow shoreline and colourful outrigger canoes for hire to visit outlying islands.
Nusa Dua Beach
Nusa Dua is located 40km south of Denpasar with easy access from Kuta and Jimbaran. Nusa Dua boasts luxury hotels, up-market shopping centres, exclusive golf courses, world class convention centres and pristine white sandy beaches. Nusa Dua means “two islands” referring to the two small islands found just off the coat of the peninsula. While Nusa Dua is a more developed area in Bali, it still houses traditional temples and other attractions.
Uluwatu Temple
Uluwatu Temple is a Balinese Hindu sea temple built in the 11th century by Javanese priest Empu Kuturan and was the final worshipping place of 16th century Javanese priest Danghyand Nirartha. The temple boasts an impressive sunset view with Uluwatu monkey forest surrounding the cliff edges.

Kecak and Fire Dance
The Kecak fire dance is a traditional Balinese dance performing the story of Ramanyana, a famous Asian epic. The group consists of 50 male dancers with 10 to 15 dancers performing the main dance roles. The choir group sit cross legged in a circle chanting “Cak ke-cak ke-cak ke-cak ke-cak ke-cak” giving the dance its name.
Entrance to the Kecak fire dance is $7 (USD) per person.
Jimbaran bay
Located just 4.5km from Denpasar airport, Jimbaran boasts stretches of fine white sand, stunning sunsets, luxury hotels and is home to the Kendonganan fish market. Clusters of grilled seafood restaurants along the beach are popular with tourists. You can enjoy fresh seafood and live music while taking in the scenery.
