Barong and Keris Dance
The Barong and Keris dance is the story of the fight between Barong, the good spirit, and Rangda, the bad spirit. Barong is a character in Balinese mythology seen as a protector spirit. Barong can take many forms but is often represented as a lion. The dance is performed in Batubulan village starting at 9:30am.

Entrance is $10(USD) per person.

Ubud Art Villages

Celuk village is a traditional Balinese village and is a major centre for gold and silversmiths. Gold and silver galleries line the road with workshops usually beside them where you can watch silversmiths and goldsmiths in action.

Kemenu and Mas villages are known for their woodcarving. Wood such a teak, mahogany, ebony and hibiscus is imported from Java, Sumatra and Sulawesi to create intricate pieces.

Batuan village is popular for its artworks and handicrafts. Batuan village artisans are known for their unique Balinese artwork which are often dark representations of mythological scenes.

Ubud Market and Ubud Palace
Ubud market is a vibrant market located in the heart of Ubud. Separated into two parts, you can find fresh food in the traditional market area and handmade bags, baskets and hats, handcrafts and textiles in the arts market.

Located next to Ubud market is Ubud Palace, one of the most prominent landmarks in Bali. The palace is the home of the Ubud royal family and hosts local dance performances in its outside courtyard. After exploring the palace, you can enjoy a meal at the Adi Asri Restaurant.
